The Problem With Mrs Hinch

So unless you have been living under a rock for the past couple of months (which I have , hence no blogs…. Apologies) you will know the name Mrs Hinch.

Mrs Hinch is the worlds answer to cleaning. Her instagram is full of top tips to keeping your house clean, and the best products that you need!

Many people are taken with her style, and have a new obsession with cleaning, although others find a little shall we say….. annoying.

Now I’m not the tidiest person on the planet, (all right mum pipe down) but I don’t think I could ever clean as much as Mrs Hinch. Everyday there is a new lot of content loaded on to her Instagram story, whether its cleaning her toilet, to making the her kitchen surfaces shine. Everyday there is something new, she is the Monica Geller of the 21st century.

Although, this new wave of cleaning has been popular, some critics have said that this could be glamorising conditions such as OCD.

“I don’t understand the need to clean areas that haven’t been soiled or used since they were last cleaned. I think on a psychological level that they could trigger people to become obsessive about cleaning and become germaphobes.”

Though I find Mrs Hinch a little annoying, her techniques are pretty helpful, and for those who find cleaning  a helpful coping mechanism, it can be seen as a healthy way to cope with stress and anxiety. Also, I am a little jealous of her beautiful house!

I think the cleaning obsession is another one of 2018’s satisfying trends, and if anything has been a great marketing ploy for supermarket cleaning products.

What are your views on Mrs Hinch, satisfying trend? Or Glamorisation of obsessive behaviour?

Love Mrs Hinch. She dresses up cleaning product and I dress up my family of potatoes. We have a lot in common and – I’ve just disinfected my Salopian cave withe Zoflora! Have had to purchase face masks for my potatoes, though, as the smell of all that flora has made them a little peaky!
